Any artist interested in either a solo/group show or even an installation should contact the curator of a micro gallery to see about exhibiting. While some do not exhibit art from other artists – they only show their own art or that of family members – many are looking for artists to exhibit. Check the Gallery page for that information as well as how to contact the curator. Even so, there are a number of galleries that have scheduled exhibits several months in advance, so be patient.
Since the galleries are off a public sidewalk, any exhibit should be reflective of the potential audience. Art that contains nudity, pornography, violence, hate, overt political statements, etc. will typically not be accepted.
With that in mind, and the size constraints of the interior wall’s dimensions being 14″ x 15″ x 15″ (HWD), pretty much any art is acceptable – installations, paintings, digital, photographic, sculptures, water colors, drawings, mixed-media, etc..
Temperatures inside the galleries can get a bit high – think 100+ during the summer – and that the sun can potentially cause colors to fade. So, use of UV protection is advised as well as avoiding materials that might melt or crack due to the heat.
